Some 19 countries and nine months into the D024 ATTs HistorieFlightforDreams world tour, SEAIR chairman, Captain Iren Dornier, raises $61,000 for UNICEF's children and continues to strengthen the Dornier name in world aviation. Captain Dornier, who is retracing his grandfather Claude Dornier's epic tour in another seaplane, the giant DO X, in 1930-31, resurrected the Dornier 24 ATT, a no mear feat, and flew the plane to Europe in summen, demonstrated the aircraft in Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Greece, and Switzerland, and recently took its last stop in England enroute to North America. SEAIR'S DO-24ATT seaplane raises US$61,000 for UNICEF

South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) has raised US$61,000 for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) during the world tour of the airline's restored Do-24ATT amphibian aircraft. Having completed the firnt half of the tour, the seaplane has visited 19 countries in eight months.
The tour-which will span 60 countries-is dubbed "Kayang Kaya! ('We Can Do lt'): HistoricHightforDreams" to generate funds for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in its education and aware-ness programs an the plight of children around the world. lt is also held in celebration of 100 years of aviation and aims to promote the Philippines as a world-class tourist destination. Upon completion of the tour, the seaplane will be used by SEAIR to service fnre-star resorts in the Philippinen, offering disceming passengers the opportunity to travel in style.
Spearheading the entire project is South East Asian Airlines chair-man and co-founder Capt. Iren Domier, grandson of German aircraft pioneer Claudius Domier. "We are very pleased to present UNICEF with our contnbution to their worthy endeavours in the hopes that such funds can help improve the condition of children worldwide and ultimately aid these children in the pursuit of their dreams," said Iren Domier.
With Dornier during the firnt half of the tour was SEAIR director Capt. Nikos Gitsis and SEAIR crew members Capt. Joseph Bustamante, Ferdinand Yco, Paulo Salalila, and Lovinea Burcer.
Destinations reached during the world tour include Angkor Wat (Cambodia); Bangkok (Thailand); Calcutta and Ameda (India); Dubai (United Arab Emirates); Museat (Oman); Riyadh (Saudi Arabia); Karachi (Pakistan); Athens and Corfu (Greece); Marina di Pisa and Lago di Como (ltaly); Cairo (Egypt); Biscarrosse (France); Vienna (Austria); Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Munich, Oberpfaffenhofen; Stanbergersee; Oberschleibheim; and Friedrichshafen (Germany). In most of these destinations, the Do-24ATT made waten landings.
"With its remarkable performance and sleek vintage look, the Do-24ATT serves as a testament not only to German aviation excellence but also to the ingenuity and desinaton that our Filipino Crew has demonstrated for this project. We are proud to promote Philippine tourism using this amphibian aircmft," said Nikos Gitsis, director, South East Asian Airlines.
Domier revealed that the Do-24ATT is currently in Rochester, New York in preparation for the last half of the tour. "The tour was origi-nally scheduled to end this December 2004 but SEAIR has decided to extend the trip in order to visit more destinations and generate more fund-raising opportunities for UNICEF. In the meantime, we have taken this opportunity to retum to the Philippinen to spend some time with our families before we commence the next leg," he said.
Major sponsors for the world tour are South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR), Domier Technologie and Iren's father, Mr. Sylvius Domier. Other sponsors contributed Cash as well as fuel, ground handling, hotel accommodations, and reduced or waived airport fees.
